
Every year, Penn Engineering undergraduates are honored with awards recognizing exceptional scholarly accomplishments and their invaluable service to both the School and the wider university community. This year, we are proud to recognize the ten students in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics who received these awards.
Madison “Maddie” Magee Award for Undergraduate Excellence: Camila Espindola Rodriguez Pazos ’25
The Maddie Magee Award for Undergraduate Excellence was established to remember and celebrate Madison “Maddie” N. Magee, MEAM BS ’21, BE MS ’21. The award is given annually to a Penn Engineering senior who best exemplifies the energy, enthusiasm and excellence that was Maddie.
Receiving the Madison “Maddie” Magee Award for Undergraduate Excellence is an incredible honor. This award carries deep meaning, as it represents Maddie’s incredible legacy at Penn, a legacy of excellence, passion, and impact. I am especially grateful to have met Maddie’s parents and to share with them how much this recognition means to me. It is a privilege to be connected to her legacy in this way.
Engineering Alumni Society E. Stuart Eichert, Jr. Award: Marissa Teitelbaum ’26
The Engineering Alumni Society E. Stuart Eichert, Jr. Student Award is given annually by the Engineering Alumni Society to that student in Penn Engineering who, during his or her junior year, best exemplifies the characteristics of selfless service to the University and the Community.
Victor W. K. Ku Memorial Award: Joshua Tiu ‘26
The Victor W. K. Ku Memorial Award is presented annually to one student of systems engineering and one student of mechanical engineering, who at the end of their junior year best exemplify the ideals of high scholarship, personal discipline, and service to others for which Victor W. K. Ku, BSE (ME) ’70, MSE (ME) ’71, is remembered.
American Society of Mechanical Engineers Award: Conner Tadlock ‘27
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers Award is given annually to a student in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics in recognition of his or her outstanding efforts and accomplishments on behalf of the Student Chapter of the University of Pennsylvania.
“I am honored to receive this recognition. ASME has been a cornerstone of my experience at Penn, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to work alongside talented MEAM students, dedicated faculty and staff, and my incredible board. I look forward to continuing my efforts with the chapter to promote a community rooted in professionalism, creativity, and collaboration.”
Ralph Teetor Award: Tate Park ‘25
The Ralph Teetor Award was established by the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics in memory of its distinguished alumnus, Ralph R. Teetor, Class of 1912. It is awarded annually to that senior who in the opinion of the department’s faculty has demonstrated the qualities of ingenuity, creativity, scholarship, and service.
Hugo Otto Wolf Memorial Prize: Oren Minsk ’25 & Ethan Hu ‘25
The Hugo Otto Wolf Memorial Prize, founded by Otto C. Wolf in memory of his son, is awarded to that member of the senior class in each department of the School of Engineering and Applied Science who, during the senior year, by the thoroughness and originality of his or her work, meets with the greatest approval of the professors in charge.
It is such an honor to receive the Hugo Otto Wolf Memorial Prize, and I’m so thankful to my family, friends, professors, and classmates who have supported me throughout my time at Penn Engineering. – Oren Minsk

Exceptional Service Award: Jacob Goell ’25, Audrey Mann ’25, Fiona McLaughlin ‘25
This special award is given by the faculty of the School of Engineering and Applied Science to recognize and honor outstanding students for their service to the University.
